19 Dec Get Your Groove on at The Galley – A Hot Spot for Tampa Bay’s Local Music Scene
For newcomers and visitors to the area, Tampa Bay’s rich music history may not be well appreciated. Tampa originally attracted national attention for several local rhythm and blues bands in the 1930s and 1940s. And it’s even better known for the explosion of rock and death metal bands in the area throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Without question, the Tampa Bay area has always been a great destination for local music.
Knowing this, The Galley is a proud support of the local music scene. In fact, since we opened our doors, The Galley has consistently found some of the area’s best musical talent. On any weekend evening, you can not only come by for some awesome food and libations but also enjoy an array of some of the best local singers and songwriters. With our commitment to being a local’s place to unwind and relax, it’s only fitting that we honor local artists in the St. Pete and Tampa area. Our live music is just another reason why The Galley is THE place to be!
Check Out The Galley’s Music Calendar for 2020!
If you believe variety is the spice of life, then you will truly enjoy the musical line-up we have for you. Not only does The Galley have live music every Friday and Saturday evenings, but it’s unlikely you will hear the same local musicians twice most months. Also, each musician offers their own style and musical selection. This makes for a truly rich and diverse experience no matter which evening you choose to attend. And with a continually updated music calendar on our website, it’s quick and easy to see which local musician is playing ahead of time.
Beginning in February, 2020, The Galley will sponsor at least 8 local musicians throughout each month. For example, Will Erickson will be playing the second Saturday of every month playing a variety of country, rock and pop music. As one of the best musical storytellers, you will be completely entertained as he sings about everything from bad relationships to drunken screw-ups. Perhaps, you would rather check out some 90s’ alternative rock. If so, make plans to see Steve Isaac who plays every fourth Saturday each month. If it’s local music you want, then you should definitely make plans to head to The Galley.
Making the New Year an Awesome One!
What New Year’s Eve wouldn’t be complete with some great beats to help you ring in the new year? Not only will The Galley have DJ Wild Card helping us countdown until midnight, but he will continue the party until 3am. The Galley is offering bottomless mimosas as well as food specials to help get 2020 off to the right start with our New Year’s Day Brunch the next morning. Just what the doctor ordered after a fun-filled evening of celebration.
Also, don’t forget about The Galley’s upcoming 3rd Anniversary Weekend in late January. Starting on Friday, January 24th through Sunday, January 26th, The Galley will be providing a variety of food and drink specials to celebrate this awesome occasion. And each evening, live music will be provided to really get the party going. Sean Fote, Steve Isaac, and Steve Cary are the musical headliners for the weekend and are sure to create the perfect vibe. In past years, The Galley’s anniversary weekend has become known as a not-to-be-missed event. And this year’s celebration is certain to be the same!
Live Music – The Perfect Complement to Great Food
While The Galley plays host to a variety of local musicians, you can be sure that one thing remains the same…our great food! For example, our T.B. Crab cake appetizer is a local favorite. This consists of two large house-made lump crab cakes with spicy sriracha aioli that is absolutely delicious. Or our popular St. Pete Grouper Sandwich that can be ordered grilled, blackened or fried. Made with only the freshest grouper, it is also a true delight. If you haven’t dined at The Galley, you really don’t know what you’re missing!
From local music, to delightful cocktail creations, to our extensive menu of delicious food, The Galley is a great place for an evening of fun. So, make plans to come down for a visit and see what St. Pete locals already know…The Galley is THE place to be in 2020.
